The Research Centre for IEEE

"The submission of research papers to the Student Conference on Engineering Sciences and Technology (SCONEST) was initially commenced in the year 2002 under the supervision of IEEE. Till now, this organization has organized almost nine annual conferences. This year their observance committee has decided to hold their 10th conference in Mehran University of Engineering And Technology (MUET) in Jamshoro."

Probably, the world famous committee of IEEE has so many missions to work upon, but with the initiation of the conference of SCONEST, the organization has reached its top. Undoubtedly, presentation of research ideas is a key step that contributes immensely in broadening the vision of this organization. For instance, research proposals can play a vital role in creating awareness of latest and innovative ideas into the practical and seeable phase.


Basically, this committee of IEEE had established its first centre in 1980 with the trust of the Centennial celebration. With the support of IEEE, various events are organized to inculcate and to encourage students to work in groups. This will help them understand the challenges of working and collaborating with other individuals, and when many intelligent minds work together, they can come up with new innovative ideas more easily.


Consequently, IEEE has pleased to organize another event which holds the researches of Electrical and Computer Sciences that are meant to enhance participants’ ideas by providing them with the correct and latest resources with many refreshments. This event titled ‘Annual Student Conference’ is to be held on the 27th and the 28th of June. Apart from these fields, IEEE also serves many other fields which have emerged from them by organizing relevant and fruitful events.


With the collaboration of IEEE, the conferences of SCONEST have held in different parts of the country. This time they have planned to join their hands with the IEEE-MUET Student Branch. The eligibility criteria for the individual enrollment in this conference are to must have a HEC recognized university. Moreover, the tendency of accepting abstract is that the candidates can be either undergraduates or graduates. Furthermore, the last date for the abstract submission is 14th may of 2011.

Therefore, this organization through such events is providing a great platform to people for putting forth their visions and creative ideas. Also, winners will be awarded with prizes, and other benefits like lunch, certificates for the participants, and many more things.
